NOURISH: Dumpling Gathering at The Power Plant
On Thursday, October 10th, The Power Plant hosted NOURISH: Dumpling Gathering, a vibrant event at the intersection of art, food, and community.
The evening began with a compelling lecture by Ranee Lee, Industrial Design professor and founder of DESIGNwith, exploring how design and third spaces can foster deeper community connections. Following the talk, the NOURISH mobile kitchen transformed the gallery, using food as a medium for connection and care. Attendees enjoyed a shared vegan meal, celebrating dumplings as a symbol of community and nourishment.
The event also featured the launch of the exclusive NOURISH patch, designed in the DESIGNwith Lab and crafted with local wool, which was available for purchase to support free community initiatives.
The night concluded with a private viewing of Lap-See Lam's Floating Sea Palace, an immersive installation reflecting on memory, tradition, and migration.
