We’ll start the evening with a presentation by Industrial Design Professor and founder of DESIGNwith Ranee Lee. As Professor Lee explores the concepts of caring design practice and third places, a guest chef will prepare homemade vegan dumplings utilizing NOURISH, an innovative social wellness mobile kitchen designed at the lab.

Participants will be invited to enjoy the meal and, later, proceed for a private viewing of Lap-See Lam’s Floating Sea Palace, an exhibition inspired by a three-storey dragon-shaped Chinese ship restaurant called Sea Palace that sailed from Shanghai to Europe in the early 1990s. We'll explore Lam’s immersive video installation that draws on traditional storytelling forms of Cantonese opera and shadow play puppetry, reflecting on how memory and tradition shift through time and migration.
